With 12,000 theatre seats within four blocks, 12 galleries and museums and over 1500 cultural events with 1.3 million visitors each year, Grand Center is unique in the country. From the traditional to the experimental, from around the corner and around the world, we bring the finest in art, music and theatre to the people of St. Louis, the Midwest and the nation. Only 7% of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least four consecutive four-star evaluations, indicating that Grand Center, Inc. "consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America." http://www.grandcenter.org/images/header-aboutus.jpg Click image for About Page THE EVENT As a family friendly, alcohol free event, First Night is a one of a kind celebration that draws 10,000-15,000 people to Grand Ave. between Lindell and Delmar for entertainment and the traditional fireworks. There are several different opportunities, so we'll work with you on meeting your preferences if you'll work with us on remaining flexible so that we can pull off this great event! Shifts last about three hours and jobs include: Venue Captain, Greeter, Usher, Children's Activities Volunteer, Music Venue Captain, and Dance Venue Captain. As a volunteer at the event, you'll receive an official First Night t-shirt, snacks and drinks, TWO free admission buttons to all venues, discounts on additional button purchases, hospitality, and the experience of making Saint Louis' New Years Eve a memorable one for all attendees. http://www.grandcenter.org/eventImages/47.jpg Click for more information about First Night VOLUNTEER PROCEDURE Ok, now for the fun stuff ;-p... Volunteer registration deadline is December 28. The earlier you call before the event, the more choices you'll have.
