906 Eichelberger, St. Louis, MO 63111 And now for something completely different! Catholic or not, join us for a Lenten fish fry - with a twist! So what does it take to make the best-tasting chiles rellenos in town? Poblano peppers? Check. Mexican cheese? Got it. A thick egg-based batter to fry them to a crispy golden brown? No problem. It also helps if theyÃÂ're made fresh at St. Cecilia Parish. Every Friday during Lent, a team of volunteers at the South St. Louis parish have been serving up hot chiles rellenos as well as other Mexican-style meatless dishes (bean tostada, chile relleno, cheese quesadilla, chips, pico de gallo, nachos) for diners looking to fulfill their weekly Lenten obligation. Dinner is $8 and includes 2 entrees, 2 sides, and lemonade or coffe, and dessert. Menu: http://stceciliaparish.com/sites/default/files/fishfrymenu.pdf St. CeciliaÃÂ's had done fish fries in the past but stopped several years ago, according to parish Hispanic minister and fish fry organizer Edgar Ramirez. The parish started offering them again last year, but this time organizers wanted it to reflect the parishÃÂ's predominantly Hispanic community. Fish Fry starts at 4:30 and ends at 8:00, come early!!! Entertainment also, Mexican musicians and dance each event. I plan to be there by 5:30. Call or text me to find me! (IÃÂ'll send my cell the night before to all yes & maybe RSVPs.) This is an early event, so if anyone has any good ideas for activities afterwards, feel free to post them.
