Description: Experience magical sights and sounds as the Grand Center District transforms into a visual and performing “Wonderland” at FIRST NIGHT® - St. Louis, the annual arts festival that celebrates the coming of the New Year, with this year’s presenting sponsor Edward Jones.
            The opening ceremony kicks off at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 31, at the main stage, located at Grand and Washington boulevards. Festivities continue to midnight of the New Year and include both favorite performers and activities of years past along with exciting newcomers to this year’s program.
Enter a world of enchantment as FIRST NIGHT® - St. Louis takes over the streets, theaters, churches and buildings of Grand Center in a fantastical Wonderland of arts experiences with dramatic lighting, costumed characters and more than 70 different performance and participatory art of all varieties including singing, dancing, live music, theatrical performances, on-site installations and artistic creations and many more surprises for children and adults alike. And even if we have a Wonderland of snow, there are plenty of indoor activities and performances to keep revelers warm as they greet the New Year!
In ever-popular FIRST NIGHT® - St. Louis tradition, this year’s celebration lights up the sky with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. for the young ones and culminates in a Grand Finale display at midnight, both led by America’s Got Talent finalists The Cadence, an entertaining and dynamic drumming group from Springfield, Mo.
