My background is the construction industry. Over the course of 30 years, I was responsible for the financial control of construction projects, including valuing work done, project bidding, estimating, buying, planning, financial and project management, and general management. The type of construction projects included offices, schools, banks, hotels, a port project, an army depot and a university. In 1968, I decided to gain experience in sales and for the next few years worked with several American companies located overseas (Europe and the Middle East) selling mutual funds, insurance and automobiles.
