STEP OUT: WALK TO FIGHT DIABETES AT MINUTE MAID PARK, HOUSTON AND LONE STAR COLLEGE-MONTGOMERY, THE WOODLANDS WHO: Your American Diabetes Association (ADA), families, friends and co-workers in and around the Houston area will join in a nationwide campaign to raise money to help fund diabetes research, education and advocacy.
WHAT: Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes is the ADAs largest annual fundraising campaign. Every fall, thousands of people join in the fight against diabetes by walking and running in the family friendly non-competitive walk and run.
WHERE: Minute Maid Park 501 Crawford, Houston & Lone Star College-Montgomery 3200 College Park Drive, The Woodlands WHEN: Saturday, November 22, 2008 TIME: 7:30 AM Registration/Check-in Begins 8:30 AM 5K Run Begins 9:00 AM 3K Walk Begins Family Health and Fitness Festival immediately follows run and walk
WHY: You know someone with diabetes! Nearly 21 million children and adults in the U.S. have diabetes and 1/3 of them dont know it. Every 21 seconds someone in this country is diagnosed with diabetes. If current trends continue, 1 in 3 children born today will develop this chronic disease in their lifetime.
