Location: The Woodlands Town Center
The GE Run Thru the Woods is an annual race/walk fundraiser designed for all ages and levels of fitness. Held every year on Thanksgiving Day morning, the event is a holiday tradition in The Woodlands and South Montgomery County communities.
This holiday event has become one of the premier race/walks in the region featuring a 5 Mile certified run: a timed 1 Mile race for Children, ages 12 and under; and a 3 mile Teen Race for ages 12 – 17. For the non-runners, there is a 3 mile Family Walk. In 2007, the event attracted over 4200 participants raising more than $100,000 for local youth charities.
All events start and finish at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands Town Center. The children’s race kicks off at 7:45am followed by the 5 mile race at 8:15am and the 3 mile Teen Race and 3 mile walk at 8:20am.
On line registration is available at www.runthruthewoods.org or you can stop by the South Montgomery County YMCAs and register: 6145 Shadowbend Place and 8100 Ashlane Way in The Woodlands. For more information please call 281-681-6723.
