THE TORCH RELAY FOR CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK COMES THROUGH THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS
Participants Walk to raise money for Texas Children Hospital
Woodlands, Texas (November 15, 2009)-(Sunday) Marriott Hotels of Houston and Woodlands residents will join more than 4,000 participants from 40 cities as part of the fifth-annual coast-to-coast Torch Relay to raise money for Children's Miracle Network, an international non-profit organization that raises funds for children's hospitals.
The Torch Relay for Children's Miracle Network is a multi-day event that traverses the country each fall, with participants walking, running and cycling to raise funds for their local Children's Miracle Network hospitals. The Woodlands segment of the relay is a 3 mile walk which will begin at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott, 1601 Lake Robbins Drive. Walking alongside friends, family and co-workers, participants will be raising money for the Texas Children's Hospital. Texas Children's Hospital is one of the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals that treat 17 million children each year.
Scott Burt, President and CEO of Children's Miracle Network, will be participating in one of this year's events. "The Torch Relay for CMN continues to grow every year," said Burt. "This event doesn't just raise funds for children's hospitals in dozens of cities; it creates an event so that people can feel part of a greater whole. I look forward to participating this year and helping the 17 million children treated each year by Children's Miracle Network hospitals."

The goal of the 2009 relay is to raise $1.25 million for Children's Miracle Network hospitals across the country. Information about registration for the event is found at torch-relay.org.
