Spearfish Canyon Half Marathon & 5K Run/Walk

Saturday, July 24th, 2010 – 24th Annual Spearfish Canyon Half Marathon & 5K Run/Walk - Spearfish, SD

The event includes a timed 13.1 mile run down the gorgeous Spearfish Canyon, a paved, slightly downhill route with four water stops.
Medals will be awarded to every participant who finishes the half marathon. Place medals will be awarded to the top three runners in
each category (male/female and age categories). We will also have a timed 5K Run/Walk, which will begin and end in the park and take
participants through part of the canyon. Medals will be awarded to the top two participants in each category. However, if you don’t
want to “compete”, you’re welcome to take your time walking the route and enjoying the scenery!
Registration and check-in will be from 5:50-6:45 a.m. in Spearfish Park. Half marathon participants will board buses to take them up to the
starting point at Savoy. The last bus will depart at 6:45 a.m. The half marathon will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K will start at 7:15 a.m.
This event benefits the Northern Hills Area CASA Program, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization whose mission is to promote and
protect the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in court proceedings through the advocacy of trained volunteers.
Your registration donation is tax deductable, and 100% of your donation will go to help these children.
T-shirts will be provided to participants on a first-come-first-serve basis. Beverages and snacks will be provided, and door prizes will be awarded at the end of the event.
