Since its debut in 1954, the Surf and Saddle has been a favorite watering hole for Solana Beach locals and visitors to the coastal corridor.

Without the staff, the Surf and Saddle could not ride the crest that it does. The bartenders here are not just bottle-opening machines, they're part of the horseplay; they are, in fact, the hosts of your party...

If you need energy in the morning, throw the coffee down the sink and join Debbie or Michelle at 7 a.m. for their special Bloody Mary's.

Don't forget about Open Mic night, every Wednesday night with Jackson Patrick. Open Mic starts at 9:00pm and goes until close.

In the afternoons, you find Willie, a mild-mannered, robust Mexican-American and Solana Beach native, and probably the most refined gentlemen in town.

If sports talk is your thing, join Michelle and Kasey on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Watch the games on one of six televisions. Arrive between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., and your 2nd Bloody Mary is only $1.00.

Happy Hour runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. During those hours, you are likely to witness loosened neckties, cellular phones, pagers and car keys placed haphazardly on the bar.

After a brief subsiding during the dinner hour, the real nightlife begins. A slightly younger crowd starts to flow in. It is not uncommon to find ladies dancing on the bar, sensually like a collective striptease.

Join Chuck and Ann Marie behind the bar on Fridays and Saturdays for live music. You will be pleasantly taken aback by the quality of talent at the local level - and there is never a cover charge. Experience an evening with Juli, Monday through Wednesday nights, Saturday and Sunday afternoons for not only a great time, but a tip or two from our resident pool expert. The Surf and Saddle attracts bands with names like Soulcracker, Shopping Kart Assassins, Pivit, Shocks of Mighty, Big Mike and Semisi and Fula Bula to name a few.
