Daily - Dawn to Dusk. Phone: 919-989-8988. The trail begins on an asphalt path along the bank of the Neuse River, passes through a historic cemetery and then into neighborhoods of Victorian-era and early 20th century homes. Continue through historic downtown Smithfield featuring the Johnston County Courthouse, and the Ava Gardner Museum which houses memorabilia of one of the glamour stars of Hollywood's Golden Age.
