Ever wondered what it’s like when history teachers and students are brought together for a candid dialogue on the current state of teaching history in Singapore? History teachers can ill afford to ignore the practice, planning and future place of their profession at a time when change is the basic frame of life and work in a city-state imagining itself to be a global city. It is timely for teachers to venture beyond their individual work and mental spaces to share their ideas, achievements and failures, which are of wider relevance to colleagues and students.
This session targeted at school teachers, trainee teachers, academics, and history students, provides an opportunity to reflect informally on their endeavours. On a wider scale, it seeks to consider the future of the craft and the ways teachers can shape it.
Due to limited seats, registration is required and can be made via http://golibrary.nlb.gov.sg and surf on to 'SG101'.
