John Brandoli

John Brandoli is humble. “I am a writer, just simple songs that flow out of me.” But to anyone that listens through his debut LP, Suspended Disbelief, he is anything but simple. Brandoli is a craftsman of songs drawing a clear influence from songwriters he adores. “I always loved the poet-songwriters or the ones who could tell a story: Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty, Tracy Chapman, Stevie Nicks.” But Brandoli has a style and voice of his own. And the more you listen, the more you fall in love with what he calls ‘his world’. “My world is definitely romantic and even a little dark at times. I believe that music should express who you are.” With a keen sense of melody and hooks, John grabs the listener by the ear first, before he gives you his heart. “I am a little dramatic, without a doubt, but these songs are all real. They are about real things that have happened to me. And if they seem silly or overly-dramatic to me now, they certainly didn’t seem that way when I was experiencing them.” John’s distinctive voice and lyrics make for an album that is all his own. “This record is truly something I am proud of. I wrote stories and kept a journal as far back as the first grade. I love to write and be creative and perform. These are my songs and I am looking forward to going out and playing them.
