Natural Stone
This Designer Education Series program provides a basic review of the origin of limestone, its performance characteristics, attributes and its typical applications as a building stone. The course includes the typical fabrication process as well as the normal selection, specification resources and order process for dimensional cut limestone.
During our training, attendees will complete the following learning objectives:
- Explain the origin and formation of Limestone
- List the characteristics and performance of Natural Limestone
- Explain the differences between natural limestone and synthetic/cultured material
- Review some of the “Green Design Attributes” of limestone
- List the steps involved in the stone selection process
- Identify various specification resources and review sample drawings/detailing
- Review the fabrication process
- Explain the order and approval timelines
