The fourth Saturday of every month, it’s time for the Shawsville Ruritan Club Square Dance.
It's granny rules: no drinking, no smoking, no cussing, no spitting on the floor. Just singing and dancing and hooting and hollering.
The place is the Meadowbrook Community Center, 267 Allegheny Spring Road. That's at the corner of Allegheny Spring and U.S. 460 in the heart of beautiful downtown Shawsville.
There's no admission fee, but the Ruritans are asking for a $5 donation. Drinks and snacks will be available for a donation, too. The Shawsville Ruritans, famous for their Fourth of July parade and celebration, are involved in all sorts of community projects, but one of their main goals is to provide scholarships for Eastern Montgomery High School graduates bound for college.
Come on out and bring some friends!
