Smart Gridtec 2011---China International Smart Grid Technology and Equipment Exhibition

Smart grid is a new approach to an automated, widely distributed energy delivery network that functions responsively and organically. Its basic concept is to add monitoring, analysis, control, and communication capabilities to the national electrical delivery system to maximize the throughput of the system while reducing energy consumption.

Governments around the world are exploring various approaches that increase the efficiency and reliability of their entire electrical delivery system, as well as reduce energy in the delivery process and thereby cut down on greenhouse house emissions.

The Chinese government has been increasing investment into smart grid technology to prepare for national energy needs that are expected to double in 10 years. It has been reported that China is preparing to invest US$7.3 billion this coming year in smart grid technology (Source: Zpryme).

The 1st China International Smart Grid Technology and Equipment Exhibition (Smart Gridtec) will be held from 5 to 7 May 2011 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). Smart Gridtec 2011 will focus on IT, automation and interaction, covering all the segments including power generation, transmission, distribution, utilization and scheduling so as to create opportunities for the rapid development of smart grid technology and equipment.

Held concurrently with the exhibition is China Smart Grid Forum. Both local and international Industry leaders and experts in this specialized field will be invited speak at the meeting. The topics include intelligent network technology standards, distributed energy, smart power distribution automation, intelligent home and building, electric vehicle charging stations and other major applications.
