Jirisan Fall Colors and Nagan Folk Village Overnight and Nae Jang San Foliage

Hi Folks! Third in a series of Fall Colors trips this one will also be nice. So this time lets go to the best scenery Jirisan has to offer and then go over nextdoor to Nagan Folk Village where we can stay overnight at a very nicely manitained old style village home with straw roofs. We can then spend Sunday morning in a relaxed atmosphere enjoying the village where they offer many things you can experience and see and buy. Its great because we get to enjoy the village before the tourist buses start to come around 11AM. Then we head over to Nae Jang San which could arguably be the the best place for fall colors in Korea. Overnight trips are great because: 1. You've already spent the money to go that far. Looking around more only costs a little more. 2. Early morning is in many cases is the best time to look around. 3. We have more time to get to know each other and have fun!^^ 4. Nice dinner and drinks afterwards is sometimes the best part of the trip!^^ The itinerary looks something like: Friday (11/6) 11:30PM We meet at Seoul National Univ of Education Station Exit #4. Leave for Jirisan at 11:59PM sharp. Saturday (11/7) 5AM Arrive at the base of Jirisan at Seong Sam Jae. Hike up to No Go Dan ridge. (1hr hike) (Sunrise Time = 6:56AM) If we get lucky with weather we get to see very nice sunrise. The entrance to No Go Dan peak opens at 9AM. So hang around at the top for awhile enjoying the view. I will have couple of burners and pots so bring water and you can have hot ramen. 9AM We hike to the peak. 10AM Take a leisure hike down to Piagol Valley and then on to Yeon Gok Sa Temple. Piagol is famous for fall colors in Jirisan. 2PM Finish the Hike at Yeon Gok Sa Temple. Have Bi Bim Bob late lunch. 3PM Leave for Nagan Folk Village. Total hiking time itself is about 5 hours. And the tough uphill is for the first 1 hour only so I recommend this hike to anyone who is even remotely fit!^^ We leave everything on the bus except water and snacks so we can be light on our feet. 4PM Arrive Nagan Folk Village Stay in the old Korean style homes. We have the option to cook our own food or eat in one of the local food places. Sunday (11/8) In the morning spend the time in a laid back atmosphere of strolling around the village. Lots to see and do. Will be making breakfast sandwiches. 11:00 AM Head over to Nae Jang San park. You may see arguably the most colorful foliage in Korea. The colors are intense here. Have lunch here. 4PM Depart for Seoul 9PM Arrive Seoul You can leave anything on the BUS at all times. The lodging place has nice heated rooms. If we decide to cook BBQ dinner ourselves, then its 10,000 per person extra. But there are restaurants in the village so that may be a better plan. Sign Up Process: 1. For example the person who made the deposit sooner gets to decide which room he/she will be in. Late to Bus Penalty: We will implement a 1000 won per 1 minute penalty for being late to the bus at these times: 1. Leaving Seoul. (11:15PM) 2. Leaving Jirisan Mountain. (3:00PM) 3. Leaving Nagan Folk Village. (11:00AM) 4. Leaving Nae Jang San Mountain. (4:00PM) We will use penalty money to buy snacks for everyone on the way back to Seoul.^^ There is space for 44 people. It is no longer possible to get cheap travel insurance to supplement whatever insurance you probably already have. So you have to relay on insurance you already have to protect you.
