Safeco Field

Located in Seattle's SoDo district, Safeco Field (also known as The Safe) has been home to the Seattle Mariners since 1999. In addition to a schedule of great baseball games, Safeco Field also hosts a number of other events, including WWE matches and concerts from big name artists like The Beach Boys. Safeco Field was built in 1999, following the decline of the Kingdome and an unprecedented 1995 season. The park is unique in that, although it does have a retractable roof, it does not fully close, making it one of two covered baseball stadiums in the world with permanent openings. The stadium seats 47,878 people and features many amenities that surpass other MLB ballparks. Safeco provides beer and food a cut above the rest, including Asian, Mexican, and health food. The stadium is decorated throughout with local art that commemorates some of the greatest players and moments in Mariners' history, including a mural of "The Double."
