Urban Forest Restoration

The Brandon Street Natural Area is a 11 acre urban forest in the heart of West Seattle. Within this forest is Longfellow Creek, one of the last remaining fish bearing streams left in Seattle. Come out and lend a hand at our montly volunteer events. Help remove English Ivy from taking down young trees and shrubs. Spread mulch to help keep weeds away and add nutrients to the soil. Help plant native trees and shrubs which provide the needed habitat for both wildlife and fish. Events include intro to the importance of forest ecology. All tools, gloves and materials will be provided along with a light snack.
