Less than a month remains until the NW Distillery & Cocktail Festival, the largest gathering of distillers, cocktail enthusiasts and mixologists in the state of Washington. “The most epic cocktail party in Seattle since Prohibition” will allow spirit enthusiasts and cocktail aficionados to celebrate Washington’s growing craft distilleries in a two-day event on Wednesday, August 8th and Thursday, August 9th.
Ticketholders may purchase passes to attend any of three events at the Festival: Cocktail Seminars, a Cocktail Competition, and a Grand Tasting. The Seminars consist of a full day of professional-level workshops on Wednesday, August 8th, including spirit tasting, cocktail mixology, and distilling classes. The Competition will take place later that evening, where participants will join professional judges in tasting the cocktail creations of Seattle’s top bartenders.
On Thursday, August 9th at 7pm, The Grand Tasting will provide tastes and flights of craft distillers’ creations, including gin, vodka, and whiskey. Local chefs will prepare small sweet and savory bites to pair with the spirits. Live music and performance art will complement the festivities in a 1920’s Prohibition-era theme.
Tickets for each of the three events at the Festival are now available online through NW Distillery & Cocktail Festival.
Just south of downtown Seattle, Herban Feast’s Sodo Park is a distinct and memorable venue for the first annual Festival. Built in 1907 by the Stetson-Ross Manufacturing Company, Sodo Park has been carefully refurbished, incorporating reclaimed light fixtures, non-toxic paints, and recycled furniture. The 7,500 square foot building boasts high ceilings, exposed millwork, and a hundred years of remarkable character.
Hungry for more foodie events that celebrate the best of the Northwest? Look for the NW Chocolate Festival on September 29 – 30 at the Washington State Convention Center. The NW Coffee Festival will follow on November 10 – 11 at the Seattle Design Center.
Cost: Payment required - Ranges from $35 for the Cocktail Competition on August 8, to $45 for the Grand Tasting Celebration on August 9, to $55 for the Cocktail Seminars on August 8. $125 provides access to all three events.
