3rd Annual Seattle Cold Water Workshop for kayakers

Hosted by The Kayak Academy Date: Friday, January 1, 2010 Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm Location: Lake Sammamish State Park, Issaquah WA Join us for the 3rd Annual Seattle Cold Water Workshop. Offered in years past by the Puget Sound Paddlers Network, the Kayak Academy is pleased to sponsor this valuable sea kayak community event. The morning begins with a discussion and show & tell on dressing for immersion and then we'll go for a swim in whatever YOU think is "acceptable" to wear for kayaking in the winter months here in Seattle. Then we'll warm up and learn/practice impromptu rescues without re-immersing the swimmer back into the water during the recovery. Your hosts will be George Gronseth and Bob Burnett, instructors at The Kayak Academy in Issaquah. FREE Demo drysuits are available to the first 20 meet up members. Kayaks are available to rent for $15. All demos and rentals MUST be arranged with the Kayak Academy by calling 206 527 1825 a week in advance of the event.
