This artisan gallery and store — located in a space formerly occupied by Higo Variety Store, a five-and-dime that operated for some 70 years before closing in 2003 — offers crafts and one-of-a-kind art objects, from paintings to ceramics by Japanese and Northwest folk artists. Artifacts from the International District's very beginnings (most of them recently unearthed in Higo's stockroom) mix and mingle with the new items, though the old pieces aren't for sale (a museum is planned).
