Tues.-Sat 10:30am-5:30pm
Owner: Greg Kucera
The Greg Kucera Gallery exhibits contemporary paintings, sculpture and works on paper by nationally recognized artists and artists of the Northwest. We also have a large contemporary print inventory, including ULAE publications.
Although the Gallery focuses on one-person exhibitions for the artists we represent and work with on a contractual basis, the staff occasionally produces group exhibitions, generally with a focused theme. Typically those themes have addressed the political situation of our present culture or movements and conventions within the contemporary art world.
Established in 1983, the Greg Kucera Gallery occupies 4,200 square feet of space, comprising four separate exhibition spaces and an outdoor sculpture deck. Earlier in 2004, we acquired a 4,000 square foot space adjoining our present Gallery on the ground floor of the Lofts Building. In February 2005, we opened about 2,000 square feet of that storefront as a new exhibition gallery, as well as for some much needed rack and storage areas. David DiMarco, the Seattle architect (who designed our present space in 1997) has created a brilliant, soaring two-story volume which complements our other gallery spaces. We have retained the vintage fir floor, created an adjunct to our mezzanine space, and expanded our outdoor sculpture deck to include the full width of the building.
