Description
The Artist Way Workshop The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron is an international bestseller and a seminal book on the subject of creativity. The author notes that: "Many of us wish we were more creative. Many of us sense we are more creative, but unable to effectively tap that creativity. Our dreams elude us. Our lives feel somehow flat. Often, we have great ideas, wonderful dreams, but are unable to actualize them for ourselves. . . We hunger for what might be called creative living â€" an expanded sense of creativity in our business lives, in sharing with our children, our spouse, our friends." This book and workshop can be an incredibly useful resource to tap into your creative side which can benefit many parts of your lives. Gin and Kate are thrilled to be able to offer this class this fall. The desire to offer this class was born out of their passion for the material offered in the book and also a strong wish to support those who are looking to make some positive changes in their lives. The 2 hour a week 11 week long class will take students through the 12 chapters with an emphasis on the accompanying chapter exercises. Award-winning actress and teacher Gin Hammond is passionate about sharing the gifts of The Artist's Way, by Julia Cameron. She uses this powerful tool every few years (particularly during transitionary phases of her life), to take her work to the next level, and is excited to show others how going on The Artist's Way journey can ignite one's deepest creative impulses in a structured yet liberating way. This enthusiasm also stems from the fact that the book works with everyone, no matter how dormant or energized their creative life may be, and enhances their ability to be more fully and genuinely themselves. Kate worked in social services for over 10 years when she found herself drawn to the material in The Artist's Way which helped her uncover a passion for theatre and marketing the arts. She credits her mid-life career change (now working at her dream job as Freehold's PR Manager) to having gone through The Artist's Way book. She's thrilled to have the opportunity to share this material with Freehold students and to be able to witness the life changing benefits and synchronicity that can come for students as they delve into the wonders that this book has to offer.
