Stage Combat with Geof Alm (Seattle Session with Freehold Theatre)

Stage Combat This series offers instruction in stage combat focusing on rapier and dagger, unarmed, and broadsword techniques. The ongoing exploration of nonviolent physical conflict helps the actor create the illusion of violence in a safe but dramatically effective way. Students who take the full three quarter progression may be eligible to take the Skills Proficiency Test offered by the Society of American Fight Directors at the end of Spring Quarter. Students joining the class in Winter Quarter must have previous experience and permission from the instructor. January 9 - March 13 Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. $325 (Tier I); $375 (Tier II) Tier level is based on household income. He has worked at Seattle Repertory Theatre, Intiman Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre, A Contemporary Theatre, Seattle Opera, Seattle Shakespeare Company, The Group Theatre, Arizona Theatre Company, The Huntington Theatre Company, and Missoula Children's Theatre. Alm teaches all over the Northwest, in Boston, Montana, and Louisiana, and in the University of Washington's Professional Actor Training Program.
