The permanent collection of Asian art at the Seattle Asian Art Museum offers a unique opportunity to compare and contrast the art from diverse cultures across the Asian continent, including China, Japan and Korea. This 60-minute cross-cultural tour offers a window on different ways of thinking, seeing and creating art.

The museum, which houses the majority of the Seattle Art Museum's 7,000-piece Asian art collection, specializes in works from Japan, China, Korea, India, Southeast Asia and the Himalayas. Considered one of the best Asian art collections in the country, the museum's holdings include Japanese ink painting, calligraphy and Buddhist sculpture; Chinese tomb figures, jade carvings and puppets; Korean screens and ceramics; Southeast Asian Buddhist and Hindu sculptures and historical Thai ceramics. The museum also offers lectures relating to current exhibits, kids events, Japanese tea ceremonies and artist demonstrations on esthetic techniques such as flower arranging.
