This is a private event supported through the City of Seattle's Lifelong Recreation and Specialized Programs Department. The zoo is open regular hours for normal visitation.

Take a walk on the wild side at the 36th Annual Old Timers' Picnic brought to you through the City of Seattle especially for local senior citizens. This special day will take place on the zoo's spacious North Meadow. Come out and enjoy lunch and entertainment, and walk through our world-class zoo! The zoo is conveniently located on the #5 Metro bus route (get off at N. 59th St. and go one block east to the zoo's North Entrance). Tickets go fast and registration is required. For more than 100 years, Woodland Park Zoo has been a cherished community resource and a unique urban oasis. Generations of Puget Sound families have come to the zoo to marvel at the animals and be inspired by the peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Woodland Park Zoo encompasses 92 acres and features more than 1,090 individual animals representing nearly 300 species. The grounds are divided into what are known as bioclimatic zones, the unique habitats around the world, from tropical rain forests to the frigid climes of the Far North.
