In the process of imitation, the artist begins to understand the process of creation. Working from 19th-century atelier master works, students develop basic drawing skills and the capability to see relationships through the power of observation and execution. The focus is on achieving accuracy by carefully constructing drawings using the classical drawing process. Students are introduced to the sight-size methodology.
