Description
Discover Aikido! A non-violent Japanese martial art providing mind-body-spirit integration, as well as effective self-defense. This comprehensive 8-week class will introduce you to the basic principles and practices of the Aikido art, including weekly physical movement practice, stretching and breathing exercises, and movement forms. Through training, practitioners cultivate self-awareness and resiliency, a powerful center and a calm spirit. Aikido invites us to recognize the power of applied nonviolence as a way to foster peace in the world. Conflict resolution theory, inherent in Aikido philosophy, will be examined as a part of this course. The instructor has 30 years of Aikido training, has studied throughout the United States, Japan, Europe, and Canada, and has a 6th degree black belt in Aikido
