Description
Enjoy a lecture and exhibition tour with Hatch Show Print designer Jim Sherraden in honor of EMP|SFM's newest exhibition, American Letterpress: The Art of Hatch Show Print. Sherraden will lead a presentation on letterpress and the history of America's longest-operating print shop.
Following the presentation, guests are welcome to attend a special tour of the exhibition and a chance to meet Sherraden to continue the conversation about Hatch Show Print.
Located in Nashville, Tenn., Hatch Show Print has made an undeniable impact on poster advertising and graphic design. Opened in 1879, the shop's largest clients included vaudevilles shows, state fairs and the Grand Ole Opry. Today, Hatch Show Print continues to use the same woodblock archives it used for carnivals in the 1800s to advertise everything from current politics to White Stripes concerts.
