Description
Daily, dawn to dusk. Scenic walk through a beach resort. Mostly flat route, except for a short path over soft sand to view Necanicum River estuary and a short stretch along an ocean beach dune path. You will walk the entire length of the "Prom"(enade), passing the Seaside Aquarium and a statue of Lewis & Clark at "The Turnaround" and on the boardwalk beside the Necanicum River. Visit site of the Lewis & Clark Saltworks. Route passes the new city library, the firehouse, the site of the former railroad depot, and the Seaside Historical Society Museum (Butterfield Cottage). Qualifies for Walk Oregon Challenge 4W's (water treatment plant).
