Daily, Dawn to Dusk. Hotel is open 24 hours. This trail follows streets and sidewalks of Schenectady, through the historic Stockade Section - Founded by the Dutch in 1660, for many years the settlement was surrounded by a wooden stockade, making it the only walled city in the Mohawk Valley. The walk takes you past the Schenectady Museum [Museum Walk] St. John the Evangelist RC Church [Historic Churches] thru the GE Realty Plot into Union College, attended by songwriter John Howard Payne [American Authors & Literary Landmarks] location of the film "The Way We Were" [ [Hooray for Hollywood] and Webster Hall [Carnegie Libraries] Walk by Schenectady Veterans of WWII [Veterans Memorial] and the Schenectady Police Station [Law Enforcement]. Entering the Stockade Section you walk along the Mohawk River [River Walk] past the Statue of Lawrence the Indian [Native American Culture] also the site of Queens Fort 1705-1795 [Forts of the US] you pass St George's Cemetery [Cemetery Stroll] and a former Courthouse 1833-1913 [Courthouses]. Crossing Erie Blvd you pass by the Amtrack Station [Railroad Heritage] and Proctors Theatre [Artistic Heritage]
