WoodWorks Marimba Quartet

WoodWorks was formed seven years ago as a summer project by several classically trained percussionists from Southwest Florida. It is an ensemble which specializes in folk music written especially for the marimba. Although most of the music for this instrument comes from Mexico, Brazil and Africa, almost any style of music can be adapted to the marimba.

As the popularity of WoodWorks and the marimba has grown, the expansion and demand for different literature was inevitable. Music from many genres was arranged and as a result, many different styles have been incorporated into the repertoire. They have played ragtime, circus music, the Nutcracker at Christmas and Caribbean music.
