NEW YEARS EVE CAMPOUT CELEBRATION

WHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR WITH A TOAST TO ALL OF OUR NEW FRIENDS WE'VE MADE IN 2009 AROUND A BLAZING CAMFIRE! ELAINE WILL BE OUR GENEROUS HOST. This will be a campout so after you imbibe you can safely crawl in your tent (or other arrangements) and sleep the night away. Elaine, one of our members, has generously offered the use of her large backyard (1/2 acre) as a camping location. PARTICIPATION LIMITS: MAXIMUM 30 PEOPLE, 12 (room for 4 more) TENTS (there is an rv, or bring an air mattress to sleep on the floor indoors, or share a tent) and the first 12 (room for 4 more) dogs. Stroll through the nature paths of Lemon Bay Park, and the boardwalks through the wetlands to view birds and wildlife galore! Biking to the beach is less than a ten mile round trip, or take a tour around Manasota Key. Or bring your fishing poles (live bait is available at the Corner Market) as the marina is within walking distance. We will make a plan for New Year's Eve evening based on input from the group, so please post your thoughts and we wil collectively plan the evening's festivities. There is a marina within a few blocks, they may have an event we can walk to, or we might plan our own. Let's just hang loose and let our agenda evolve! This is a great area for kayaking so be sure to bring your gear. THIS IS A TIME TO BE SHARED BY ALL OF THE ADVENTURERS, ALL ARE WELCOME FOR TWO NIGHTS, OR ANY PART OF IT. TRULY NOT TO BE MISSED, "CAMPING" WITH ALL THE CONVENIENCES, BUT TUCKED BACK AT THE END OF DIRT ROAD SURROUNDED BY PINE TREES. WHERE: The event site for camping is Elaines backyard. The address will be emailed to yes rsvps. WHEN: Please arrive no earlier than 3:00 PM Thursday afternoon, and stay until Saturday morning. You can bring food for grilling or plan on eating out all weekend, there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. THIS IS A DOG FRIENDLY EVENT. ELAINE CAN HANDLE UP TO 12 FRIENDLY DOGS IN HER FENCED 1/2 ACRE YARD. PLEASE ANSWER THE QUESTION IF YOU ARE BRINGING 1 DOG AND WE WILL ACCEPT THE FIRST 12. I WILL NOTIFY YOU IF WE EXCEED THE DOG/TENT LIMIT SO SIGN UP SOON IF YOU WANT TO TENT WITH YOUR DOG/GUEST. Patience with the limits of two bathrooms will be required. WHAT TO BRING: Tent, WARM sleeping bag, FIREWOOD, water bottle, bike, fishing poles, food and drink, coolers, kayak etc........... but most important, your SMILE!
