Katharine Butler Gallery's Carolyn Ritter Acrylic Lecture

This lecture is by gallery artist and acrylic painter Carolyn Ritter and is the fourth in a series of lectures and demonstrations scheduled throughout the 2009 – 2010 season. Carolyn Ritter will discuss her transformation in the approach of painting where she began to concern herself with the process rather than the outcome, and where she could begin to watch the painting unfold. Ritter will let us in on her discovery of painting where playing is more important than planning, reaction more important than action, and emotion more important than intellect. Join the Katharine Butler Gallery and Carolyn Ritter for this lecture, share her journey- her notes from a lifetime of painting and the miles and miles of canvas it took to find herself, and to develop her own style. The lecture is free and open to the public; however reservations are required. A reception for the artist will follow the lecture.
