February Meeting - Local Produce Distribution

Slow Food Greater Sarasota presents The Year of the Locavore February's presentation will be about the issues of getting local produce to market. Small farmers can employ one or more of a number of different methods to get their product to market. Among them are farmers' markets, Farm-to-Fork dinners, food distributors, produce stands and CSAs. As Slow Foodies, we are interested in eating local and sustainable food. A panel is being created to discuss the issues that small farmers face to market their products to local individuals and restaurants. Come meet local farmers, farmers' market representatives and food distributors to hear their comments and views on this important issue.
