The Sarasota County Commissioners established the Environmentally Sensitive Lands Oversight Committee (ESLOC) in 1999 to fulfill the county's Comprehensive Plan mandate to protect natural areas from adverse impacts by identifying and reviewing environmentally sensitive lands and making land acquisition recommendations.
