Description
The American Craft Council is a national, nonprofit public educational organization founded in 1943 by Aileen Osborn Webb. The mission of the Council is to promote understanding and appreciation of contemporary American craft. Sarasota is an idyllic and culturally active city on Floridas west coast located one hour south of St. Petersburg and Tampa. This show attracts a sophisticated crowd of collectors at the start of the prime Florida winter season. To ensure a high level of quality in the work exhibited in American Craft Council shows, each jury is instructed to adhere to these guidelines whether produced in quantity or as one-of-a-kind, the ideal handmade work reflects excellence and the unique vision of its maker; it must be well conceived and skillfully executed, without technical faults.
