Seeing is believing, and Los Angeles-area consumers are about to do both as the Nintendo 3DS Demo Pod experience is unveiled at Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, Calif. Starting on March 11, local residents will enjoy an exclusive chance to get their hands on Nintendo’s newest portable game system. In addition, Nintendo 3DS Demo Pod participants will be able to create and share their own customized Mii characters using the built-in Mii Maker application and play upcoming games including nintendogs + cats, Pilotwings Resort and Steel Diver – all while enjoying 3D visuals without the need for special glasses. Traveling Nintendo 3DS Demo Squads will provide additional sampling opportunities at more than 25 locations in cities nationwide.

The Nintendo 3DS system is set to launch across the U.S. on March 27. The Nintendo 3DS Demo Pod is free and open to the general public.
