Los Angeles, CA, November 9, 2009 – Today, just two months after its inception, aLive 315 has announced its first event: a charity concert scheduled for Friday, December 4th, 2009 to be hosted at Santa Monica's Dakota Lounge. With the help of UCLA's SAE and ZBT fraternity houses, this new entertainment company is eager to harness the great potential of this event. aLive 315 hopes to inspire music fans to think about how they can make a difference in the issues that matter to our global community.

Doors will open at 8:00 PM, and the night will feature music from local talent, the Elevaters, as well as the multi-talented Miguel, a rising Jive/Zomba artist preparing to unleash his freshman album, “The State of The Art”. UCLA student Josh Garcia from The Brewco will also be holding it down on the turntables throughout the evening. In light of these announced artists, the student turnout is expected to be quite large. To facilitate quick and easy transportation between the campus and concert, aLive 315 looks forward to implementing a brand new shuttle system for the evening.

The live funk / hip-hop concert will be promoted by aLive 315 in partnership with NextAid, an LA-based non-profit organization committed to developing and implementing innovative solutions to the challenges facing African children. Proceeds will support NextAid’s initiative to create community-driven, environmentally sustainable, economically and socially empowering responses to the AIDS orphan pandemic.

"Planning this event gave us the opportunity to pool our collective talents and resources, to learn from each other and produce a quality event that benefits a cause far greater than ourselves,” says Dan Bagnall, aLive 315 member and venue coordinator.

aLive 315 was founded in August 2009 by six Syracuse University students, as a west coast extension of Syracuse University’s Bandier Program for Music and the Entertainment Industries. All actions of the charitable entertainment organization serve to facilitate their greater goal: harnessing live music to raise money for important humanitarian causes.
