Walking Event: St Johns College and Museum Skywalk

Closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. On the St. Johns College and Museums Skywalk," you will pass by San Miguel Chapel, the oldest church in the United States. The trail then continues on a combination of city streets and dirt pathways not included on the New Mexico Capital Adventure." You will walk alongside the Acequia Madre ( Mother Ditch") supplying water (when available) to water rights owners along its course. This has been done for almost 400 years You will traverse the campus of St. Johns College, an extension of the school founded in Maryland in 1696, and pass through the grounds of a small Carmelite monastery and seminary; view a life-size sculpture of a wagon arriving on the Santa Fe Trail and being met by local residents; pass three units of the Museum of New Mexico, and two other museums; and finally pass through an interesting city park with a series of wise quotations carved on the backs of the benches.
