Intro to Kayak, Classroom @ REI

Introduction to Kayaking is a 5-hour course teaching you the skills needed to paddle any type of kayak on flat water. This includes sit on tops, recreational, touring, whitewater and inflatable kayaks. The complete course consists of a 2-hour "Classroom" and a 3-hour "Pool" lesson. At the end of the Classroom discussion, you'll know the differences between whitewater, touring & recreational kayak designs, and necessary gear for each type of boat, how to dress for the weather, and where in New Mexico you can paddle the type of water you're most interested in.
