Healing the Divide between Men and Women on Sexuality - Santa Cruz

What is Healing the Divide? A potent and timely answer to The Me Too Movement. An answer to the painful impacts that patriarchy has had on all genders. This is a solution to "toxic masculinity" and "toxic femininity." This is the call for us to come back home...to love for ourselves and to our fellow earth mates. Healing the Divide is a day-long facilitated experience where participants - men, women, singles, couples or moresomes - share their intimate stories around sexuality in a warm and inviting space. A few of the questions that we ask: What is it like, sexually, to be a man, or how do you feel that you're expected to be as a man? What is it like, sexually, to be a woman, or how do you feel that you're expected to be as a woman? What have been your personal turning points regarding sexuality? Our culture tends to cast shadows of taboo on the subject of sexuality, leaving this integral part of our life hidden in the dark--especially between men and women--creating a painful divide. In this experience, we hold the question: what would it be like if we could create a bridge of understanding and empathy regarding our sexuality? Some stories will undoubtedly be difficult, some joyous. Some will be about heartbreaks, pressures, loneliness, connections or disconnections; some about fear, violence, stigma, or personal victories. Everyone has a different history, but the amazing thing is how many common threads emerge. This is an opportunity to deeply listen to people across gender divides, acknowledge the differences, and yet also recognize the things that, simply as humans, we all share. If you just want to listen, nobody is required to speak. More than 1,500 have participated nationwide. For many, it has been a life-changing experience. Part of what brought Healing The Divide into existence was our belief that sexuality is an aspect of the Human Experience that has an immense possibility of beauty, connection, and bliss. Our deep wish is to aid in the freeing of that beauty, connection, and bliss.  The time is NOW To Heal The Divide FLOW OF THE DAY: Opening - Setting of the Container Men’s Circle - Women Listen Lunch Break (lunch not provided) Women’s Circle - Men Listen Closing Circle OTHER IMPORTANT AND LOGISTICAL INFO: ARRIVE BY 9:45AM FOR CHECK IN: You CANNOT arrive late as we will be CLOSING the doors at 10am. This is a tightly held closed container, and no one will be allowed in after we close the doors. She recognizes that the world NEEDS healing and comprehensive sex education. She takes an unyielding stand for the end of toxic sexual shame so that humans can experience heart-centered and empowered sexuality. One way she supports this movement is by bringing her workshops to cities across the nation. Dr. Hazel-Grace is the founder of Healing the Divide. She works with individuals and couples as a Clinical Sexologist and a Somatic Sex Educator to support them experiencing the healthiest and most fulfilling sex of their lives. www.drhazelgraceyates.com Tomas Booher is a sex, dating and life coach, bodyworker and inspirational speaker, trained in multiple spiritual and personal growth disciplines. His stand for respecting, honoring and supporting women’s leadership was cultivated from birth, being raised by a cadre of powerful women - his extraordinary mother and 4 sisters, in addition to his strong and sensitive father. For the past 5 years, he has been an executive handler for prominent female speakers and business coaches, offering them grounded and embodied support in conferences and meetings with up to 500 women.  Again and again, they asked him, “Will you please coach our partners and sons?” And so he is now shifting to coaching men and boys on how to show up consciously in the world. WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT HEALING THE DIVIDE: “What an honor to witness people expressing their amazing stories. I walked away with great compassion for all the men and women in the room. I felt particularly tender towards all of the people who had once been children -- confused, hurt, or sad about their bodies -- and the beliefs they grew up with that have shaped who they are today. It changed the way I will interact with people and myself regarding sex and our bodies. “ - April "Healing the divide was an opportunity to see and be seen, hear and be heard, feel and be felt. This was a place of power, healing, and love. For me, this event provided more healing in an afternoon than traditional therapy provides in a year." - Paul “I am so impressed with the level of awareness brought to creating and maintaining a safe container around sexuality. Our society desperately needs more compassion, understanding, and communication, and those qualities are at the heart of this workshop.” - Jennifer Gunsaullus, PhD  "Attending Healing The Divide was one of the most powerful, profound experiences of my adult life. It allowed me to see my fellow men AND women in a truly sympathetic light. It drew my eyes away from the subconscious filters of gender-specific guilt, shame, resentment, and fear that I had carried with me for my whole life. And it gave me the courage to start dismantling those filters." - Jonathan Walker, Poly Coach "Healing the Divide provides an opening into the secret women's club that men are not usually invited to enter. And women are invited into the inner sanctum of the "Man Cave." At the end, I experienced a thin slice of what it is to be a woman. The absolute honesty that was conveyed, blowing my pre-conceived notions of how *I* thought women thought about their roles in society, how they have felt unloved and unprotected, and flat-out abused. SUCH a great learning experience!" - Anonymous  "As a sex an intimacy educator, I was stunned by how little EVEN I knew about what boys go through in their childhood.  My level of compassion and understanding for men has increased dramatically, which will allow me to serve ALL of my clients in a more evolved way. I am impassioned to encourage women to bring curiosity to the men in their lives." - Anonymous
