Event details: Deborah Sampson:In the Character of a Solider
Description
One-woman play about Deborah Sampson, who was the first known American woman to impersonate a man in order to join the army and take part in combat during the Revolutionary War.
This program has been organized to celebrate two events: Womens History Month and the We the People grant. The We the People grant is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities in cooperation with the American Library Association to strengthen the teaching, study and understanding of American history and culture.
