Celebrate the 101st Annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. This long-time magical tradition, hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, is not to be missed. The Rusty Pelican Restaurant, which is across the street from The Holiday Inn Express, has the reputation of being a Newport tradition of outstanding food and legendary service (and moderately priced) and is a perfect place with its commanding view of the Newport Bay to enjoy the breathtaking, spectacular display of lighted and holiday decorated vessels. From the yachts to the kayacks and every size amphibious vehicle in between it will be truly a feast for the eyes. (I listed 7:00 pm as an estimated time which is subject to change, I will not know the exact time until October when the chamber of commerce works out the parade schedule) I have booked a room for Jeff and I over the internet by going to www.hiexpress.com for Thursday, Dec.17th @ $117 plus tax. Since this is a very well attended and widely known event, you may want to book far in advance before the hotel gets fully booked. (I can hear some of you laughing, now be polite there will be no laughing at the organizer!!)
