The City of Santa Clara's Concerts in the Park series offers free performances at Central Park Pavilion. The series is sponsored by the City's Cultural Advisory Commission. These concerts are family-friendly, and all ages are welcome. Tonight's featured band is Tom Rigney and Flambeau.
Tom Rigney and Flambeau are one of the hottest bands on the West Coast roots music scene. Rigney, the fiery, electrifying violinist and composer, has joined forces with some of the Bay Area's finest musicians to create a band that generates enough heat and energy to ignite a dance floor or lift an audience to its feet. After his years at the helm of The Sundogs, Tom Rigney has stepped out into the spotlight with a vengeance. Flambeau showcases: his passionate, virtuoso fiddling; his commanding, charismatic stage presence; his range and originality as a composer; and, of course, those notorious red boots! Together with his bandmates, they have forged a unique sound that blends American Roots styles into something original and hot--a sound that mixes irresistibly infectious grooves with tight ensemble playing and spectacular solos.
