The band Lion I’s was one of the biggest drawing bands in the Tri counties from 1989 to 1995. During this time they opened up for some of the top drawing acts including: Steel Pulse No Doubt English Beat The Specials Third World and Inner Circle. After Lion I’s dis-banded many of the members created another locally popular band Papa Nata. Recently Lion I’s re-grouped and came together to play a benefit concert Rock the Cure which was held at the Ventura Theatre last October. The band had six original members then eight then a couple of personnel changes. The band is now based in San Francisco Bakersfield Ventura Ojai and Los Angeles. They describe their style of music as “…reggae rock funk and ska and includes a 4 piece horn section.
