Choro and Brazilian Jazz followed by an evening of Forro - Brazilian Dance Music - Includes a dance lesson with Daniel Chin!
Come celebrate national forró day!!!! Forró is a dance popular in north-eastern Brazil, where forró is queen! Accordeon, percussion and lilting flutes personify this music of baiaos, cocos and xotes! Samba and bossa nova may be the international face of Brazilian music, but forró has made its comeback as an uber-fashionable dance music and you can find forró clubs in most Brazilian cities.
Forró brings in the winter to Brazil with hot-wines, delectable treats and slow-dancing! Much easier to dance than Samba and as sensual and fun as salsa! You have to come and check out "Forro at SOhO" on Dec. 2nd with a free dance lesson!
This is a collective of musicians from San Diego, LA, Santa Barbara, and Brazil. Please come enjoy and dance on this special occasion!
