Theatre Sans Fil's "The Hobbit"

What: Theatre Sans Fil, Montreal’s giant theatrical puppet company, brings to life the story where “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy begins with “The Hobbit”, the story of Bilbo Baggins wonderful journey to win a share of a treasure guarded by a dragon. This award-winning fantasy novel and children's book by J.R.R. Tolkien will have a new, larger than life look with Theatre Sans Fil’s highly successful adaptation that has received standing ovations throughout the world. “The Hobbit” is directed by Founder André Viens, who also serves as Artistic and General Director for the Theatre. This production is perfect for all ages!



More: Founded in Quebec in 1971, the Theatre Sans Fil (theatre without strings) is a giant puppet company. More than 3 million people have attended their productions, most often performed in the native language of each country. Initially inspired by the classical technique of Japanese Bunraku theatre, the company successfully united it with original and modern set design, lighting, and music composed by musicians familiar with the art of puppetry.
