Event details: Rey Fresco Opening for TOOTS & THE MAYTALS
Description
Rey Fresco's lead instrument is a 36 string Veracruz harp accompanied by soulful vocals, a pumping bassline, & a booming drum sound resonating from a kit built out of surfboard fiberglass.
Lead singer Roger Keiaho was born in the south pacific Fijian islands; self-taught drummer Andrew Jones creates his own custom fiberglass drum kits using a surfboard-making technique; Ventura, CA native Shawn Echevarria picked up the bass in high school & never looked back; Xocoyotzin Moraza is the harpist, guitarist, & requinto jarocho player in the ensemble.
