No previous experience is required to be able to participate and the 3 best games made during the game jam will receive a special acknowledgement! The event will take place at PR Science, Technology, and Research Trust in San Juan. The space will be accessible at all times throughout the event, there will also be sleeping areas and refreshments. The participants will have to bring their own equipment/software needed to develop their game. Access to WiFi will be available for all participants. The participants will also have the option to create a tabletop prototype or a board game. Important: Participants under 18 years old will have to be accompanied by their legal guardian throughout the whole event. And if you're attending only as a legal guardian, you do not need to purchase a ticket.   FAQs: Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event? Yes, the participant must be at least 18 years old. If under 18 years old, the participant must be with their legal guardian throughout the event. The legal guardian does not need to purchase a ticket. Can I participate remotely? No, participating remotely is not allowed. We’d recommend searching for a jam site closest to you in order to participate. Do I need to buy a ticket in order to spectate? No, feel free to pass by for the talks on Saturday and to see how the progress of the games being developed are going. On Sunday, we'll save some time for testing the games out after they have been presented. Are there a min or max amount of people per team? Yes, only up to five (5) people per team are allowed. There is, however, no minimum. Will there be food at the event? To be determined. Will I be able to sleep there? Yes, you will be able to sleep at PR Science, Technology, and Research Trust as long as you are a participant or a legal guardian. Just bring a sleeping bag with you and you should be fine. Do I have to be at the place for the entire event or will I be kicked out if I leave during some point? You are free to come and go as you please. If you'd rather sleep in your own bed than at the locale, then go ahead. If you need a midnight snack from someplace, then no worries, your team and project will be waiting for your return. There are no consequences for leaving the place and returning further on. Do I need to have previous experience to participate? Not at all, this is a fun learning experience for beginners and veterans alike. Do I have to use any specific game engine or software? Nope, you are free to use whichever game engine and/or software that you are comfortable with. There are no restrictions in that part. Will there be prizes? There will not be any prizes. This is more of a collaborative event than a competition. How do I register my team? There are no team accounts per se. Only individual accounts that are associated with location and game projects. All jammers and organizers must be registered. Multiple users can be associated with a game. What happens if I don't get to complete my game? There's no issue with that. You upload your last playable build to the webpage and hopefully, even after the game jam ends, you'll continue working on your awesome game to completion. What should I bring? We recommend that you bring a jacket in case it's too cold, your working equipment (PC, headphones, etc.), notebook and pencil, toothbrush, deodorant, extra clothes, a washcloth (to somewhat clean yourself), bottled water, and snacks, just in case. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Yes, or through the app, so we can verify your registration. Are there LAN ports available to connect to my desktop? No, the jam site is WiFi only.
